Heino Marius is a German national with a master’s in economics from Hamburg University and a post-graduate degree in development economics from the German Development Institute Berlin. He has worked with the International Labour Organization in Indonesia and EU Delegations in Ethiopia and India. He has held various roles at EU headquarters in Brussels, specializing in external relations with Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Southeast Asia. He retired in February 2020 as part of the peace mediation task force of the EU and is married with two children. Sir Heino was appointed as TPMT Chair in November 2020.
